Proactive Instead of Reactive Measures on Compliance

The Labor Department's Wage and Hour Division is increasing investigations in 'high violation' industries. The Division will no longer wait on complaints, but have taken a  proactive stance in their investigations. The targeted industries are: construction, food services, dry cleaning, landscaping, child care, janitorial services, and companies with immigrant workers. The Division wants to help employers achieve compliance in the future, not penalize them for noncompliance.
